A beautiful website that nobody finds doesn't grow your business. Run through this checklist before you launch.

Technical SEO

  • XML sitemap submitted to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
  • robots.txt that allows public pages and blocks admin or private areas.
  • HTTPS everywhere, with one canonical domain (choose www or non-www and redirect the other).
  • Canonical tags on every page to avoid duplicate content.
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) for your organisation, services, articles and FAQs.

On-page SEO

  • One clear H1 per page that matches what people search for.
  • A unique title tag (around 60 characters) and meta description (around 155 characters) for every page.
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images.
  • Internal links between related services, case studies and articles.

Performance and Core Web Vitals

  • Serve images in modern formats like WebP or AVIF, sized for each screen.
  • Preload key fonts and use font-display: swap.
  • Keep the main content visible quickly — aim for an LCP under 2.5 seconds.
  • Reserve space for images and embeds so the layout doesn't jump.

After launch

  • Set up Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Create and verify your Google Business Profile.
  • Publish helpful content regularly and earn links from relevant directories and partners.
